Bret Baier is FOX News Channel’s anchor and executive editor of “Special Report with Bret Baier,” chief political anchor of the network and co-anchor of the network’s election coverage.
Based in Washington, D.C., Baier joined the network in 1998 as the first reporter in the Atlanta bureau. For over two decades, he’s led the network’s political coverage, interviewing U.S. presidents, global leaders and key decision-makers at pivotal moments in history.
Known for his sharp, fair-minded reporting, Baier has become a go-to source for political insight during elections, global conflicts and breaking news. His interviews have set cable news ratings records and shaped national conversations. He was recently described as “the most influential news anchor in America right now” at the 2025 Semafor Trust in News Summit.
Baier is the author of seven New York Times bestsellers and will be releasing his latest book, “The Case for America: An Argument on Behalf of Our Nation,” later this year.
